NEBS CAMPS

Our neuroaffirming "CAMPS" are Group Based Therapy (or Programs of Support in NDIS Price Guide language) run by Social Workers for 2 hours per session over 4 days, with a focus on our Campers feeling comfortable to be themselves, having fun, being supported and learning.

We call our Group Based Therapy "CAMPS" because we want to reinforce the idea of coming together as comrades with some common interests, who are willing to learn new things.  If our Campers want to share what they've done in the school holidays, it's much cooler to tell your friends you went to an awesome CAMP as opposed to group therapy.

Our Camps cater for all neurodivergent children and teens who want to be part of a group.  Despite some Campers arriving shy, worried and scared; they often leave confident and always ask if they can stay or come back to the next Camp!

CAMPS are a great complimentary therapy opportunity to practice skills in a safe and supportive group space, or as an intensive therapy option if regular therapy throughout the school term isn't for you (or you don't have access to therapy during the term).

AGE GROUPS:  Preschool (before starting Kindergarten) - Infants (Kindergarten to Year 3) - Primary (Year 4 to Year 6) - High School (year 7 to year 9)

ESSENTIAL:      To be comfortable in the group, Campers MUST want to participate, and ENJOY small group work.

FEES:             $145.50 per day, per person.  Reports are mandatory for NDIS Participants and optional for private at $193.99.

LEGO®  CAMP

Lego® Camp is based on Lego® Based Therapy which is an evidence-informed, play-based program developed by Daniel LeGoff in the early 2000's.  It is a gentle way of supporting social and emotional learning for children with Autism, however has been found to benefit children with a variety of communication and social developmental difficulties.

Lego® Camp involves four roles:

  • The Brick Engineer: Reads the instruction booklet and communicates to the Supplier what brick is required.

  • The Build Engineer: Reads the instruction booklet and communicates to the Builder how to put the bricks together.

  • The Supplier: Oversees finding the correct brick as described by the Brick Engineer and selects the brick/s.

  • The Builder: Listens to the Build Engineer and places the bricks where instructed.

FRIENDSHIP CAMP

Friendships play an important role in the social and emotional lives of our children, supporting self-esteem, problem solving and inclusion.  Without skills, friendships can have a major impact on mental health and wellbeing.  To support our children, we use principles from Reach Out which helps our children to build and maintain strong and health relationships.

We cover a variety of topics including:

  • Who am I, my strengths and my interests.

  • What makes a good friend.

  • Why friendships are important.

  • Making friends and building connections.

  • Fostering friendships.

  • How to have difficult conversations.

  • When friendships aren't friendly and how to resolve conflict.

WELLNESS CAMP

When we're feeling emotionally well (what we call a "baseline"), we can better navigate stressors and show resilience to bounce back. There are a variety of ways you can practice wellness and our Wellness Camp gives you an opportunity to practice and find ways that you can take home to incorporate into your daily life.

Some of the wellness we will practice include:

  • Being aware of yourself.

  • Mindful photography.

  • Mindful eating.

  • Mindful art.

  • Meditation.

  • Yoga Therapy.

  • Breathing.

  • Finding your flow.
